The Wearable Robotics Association is pleased to announce a very special keynote presentation from Dr. Geoffrey Ling, Ph.D., DARPA, Biological Technologies Office Director, to take place at WearRAcon 16, February 10-12, 2016 at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Ling has been involved in many projects during his time at BTO including: The Restoring Active Memory Program, Revolutionizing Prosthetics Program (DEKA Arm System), and the Hand Proprioception and the Touch Interfaces (HAPTIX) Program, to name a few. During his presentation Dr. Ling will discuss the latest in neuroscience advances, as well as innovations from DARPA related to human health that could transform human capabilities.
Dr. Ling has spent his career providing critical care to patients suffering from neurological trauma. He served as an officer in the United States Army Medical Corps for 27 years before retiring as a Colonel in 2012. Dr. Ling has published more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews and book chapters, including the TBI chapter in Cecil’s Textbook of Medicine and several DoD Guidelines for managing head injury. He is a fellow of the American Neurological Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the Neurocritical Care Society, and the Society for Neuroscience. He is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit and an “A” designated neurologist.
